If is based on a short story from my second book (Need), was shot over a ten month period from 2008-2009. It was completed in October 2009.

I love Miss Conception and wanted to do some kind of video project with her. Unfortunately, all the scripted and location sequences were too ambitious to fit both our schedules, so I decided to use the green screen footage I shot and this is what I came up with.

It was a make-work project. Was I freeing up some space by getting rid of all the hard copies of my unfinished third book or was I really putting the lid on my interest in publishing?

Based on my response to the editing process of ”Waiting” I decided to buy a high def video camera and take my interest in film-making more seriously. “Waking Up” really is all about a process I went through.

That was a bad winter. Feeling totally boxed in and hopeless, I picked up my old video camera and started shooting all the scenes I’d imagined in my head during my many walks through Allan Gardens. This is the result.
